Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026. Short version: we collect nothing from your videos. They never leave your device.

1. Overview

Clipr is a browser-native video trimming tool built and operated by RuntimeHub. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. Because Clipr processes all video files locally in your browser, the scope of data we can access is fundamentally limited — by design, not just by policy.

2. Video files — we never receive them

When you use Clipr to trim a video, the file is loaded directly into your browser's memory using the Web File API. It is processed entirely client-side using MediaRecorder and the browser's native video APIs. The file is never transmitted to any server — ours or anyone else's. We have no technical ability to access, view, store, or analyze your video content.

This is an architectural guarantee, not a policy promise. There is no upload endpoint. No server receives your data. You can verify this by opening your browser's network inspector (F12 → Network) while using Clipr — you will see zero requests carrying your video data.

3. Information we do collect

Like any website, Clipr collects standard server access logs when your browser requests the page itself (HTML, CSS, JS assets). These logs may include your IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and the timestamp of the request. This is standard HTTP infrastructure logging retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention purposes. It contains no information about your video files.

4. Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — how many people visit, from which countries, which browsers they use. This data is aggregated and never tied to individual identities. No cookies are set for analytics purposes. No fingerprinting is performed.

5. Advertising

Clipr is supported by display advertising. Our ad partner may set cookies on your device to serve relevant ads. These cookies are standard industry practice and are governed by our ad partner's own privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising via your browser settings or tools such as the IAB's opt-out framework. Ads are the only reason Clipr can remain free without charging users or degrading the output.

6. Cookies

Clipr sets no first-party cookies. Third-party cookies from our ad partner may be present. You can block or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of the video trimmer.

7. Children's privacy

Clipr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

8. Data retention

Since we receive no video data, there is nothing to retain or delete in that regard. Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it contains no personal information.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Given that we hold only access logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp), the practical scope of these rights is narrow. To make a request, contact us via the details in Section 11.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Clipr after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
